Australian Labradoodle Club of America

The Australian Labradoodle Club of America, or ALCA, is an organized club that strives to unite breeders of this type of canine. It recognizes the purebred Australian Labradoodle breed, and do not include the American Labradoodle in its membership. The club was founded in 2005 and works today to promote the Australian Labradoodle breed across America.

ALCA and certification

The ALCA certifies dogs within the breed that can trace lineage back to the lines initially developed in Australia. Other Labradoodle breeds that cannot trace their lineage to this stage are not certified by the club. The ALCA certification is helpful for those interested in purchasing a purebred Australian Labradoodle, as the certificate proves that the dog is verified within the database. Owners of the breed can ask the ALCA to research the lineage and apply for certification for a small fee. The ALCA does run DNA testing on any dogs that are questionable to determine for sure whether or not they are purebred.

Finding a dog with the ALCA

The ALCA also works to find certified Australian Labradoodles homes within America. Prospective owners can contact the club to find out information on litters that are for sale by breeders. The club only lists dogs that are certified purebred. The ALCA also lists stud dogs available for loan to breeders who want to create new litters.

The Australian Labradoodle Club of America is a non-profit organization that strives to promote the true Australian Labradoodle breed within the United States. It certifies purebred dogs and helps breeders sell puppies and stud dogs. The club also serves as an educational tool for those who want to learn more about the breed.
