Welcome to Pleasant Ridge Labradoodles. My five acre mini-ranch is nestled in the rolling hills of Southeast Michigan. Stately oak groves surround the house and every window has commanding views of the surrounding pastoral countryside.
This park like setting is perfect for my dogs. They enjoy running, ball playing and assisting me with ranch chores. I plan to remain a small breeder so that all my dogs can share my home and my life. I only have a litter of puppies every one to two years and place the offspring carefully.
Labradoodles originated in Australia. The first was bred in the 80's as a service dog for a client who needed an allergy friendly dog.
Combining the warm, people pleasing personality of the Lab with the non-shedding, intelligent Poodle was the answer and a new breed began.
While I have no allergy issues, a low to non-shedding, no odor, cute, shaggy dog was just what I was looking for. The popularity of the breed proves that many others are looking for that same combination. The Labradoodle could very well be the perfect American dog.
I currently breed only standard size, F1B generation Labradoodles(First generation Labradoodle bred back to Standard Poodle) which produces a low to no shed puppy with a great coat and wonderful temperament. The parents average 55 lbs.and are 24 to 26" in height.
Labradoodles love companionship and have a willing personality that is easily trained. They make a great family dog and I am glad they are part of mine. -- Camilla |
